This past holiday we spent a lot of time road-tripping through small towns and far away places and saw a few old gems, in need of much love and attention to restore them into a fabulous place to stay. We often had to detour down side streets so that I could have a look at something that had caught my eye. One day (not too far away I hope) I am going to buy a really old house, with heaps of character and convert it into a simple holiday retreat. This abandoned barn in rural Spain was converted into a family home without detracting from the existing stonework structure and beautiful surrounds.
