faded glory

I am a big fan of locally produced mungo.  I love the colours and woven fabrics that they use for their towels, bedding and kitchen linen.  I recently purchased a set of towels, and was about to ditch them until I realised they need to be washed before you use them, otherwise they seem to repel more water than they absorb. However after that first wash they are great, and we'll definitely be investing in more soon... what's more they have an on-line store now too.  A few of my favourites below.

Saturated with colour, texture and soul, the studio of  Daniela Kamiliotis (set and costume designer, vice president of Ralf Lauren womens collection and fine artist...who says you can't do it all) was the shot of inspiration I needed today.  Hope this visual feast gets you on your creative way too.  Found via the selby.

inspirhasie and friends

I recently went in search of inspirhasie as a surprise gift for my husband, and amazingly the original was still available for me to adopt!  You may remember him from a previous post.  He must have been meant for us, as we first saw him last year and knew he was a keeper.  I'm collecting another inspirhasie tomorrow (getting his library card photo taken)...can't wait to bring him home.  You can see more norman nanimals here.  Whilst at the gallery I also purchased a few essie letterpress items, another great local talent.

Love these... the detail and expression in each one is fantastic. It's hard to choose a favourite.  Drawn with a bic pen on vintage envelopes by Mark Powell.  Found via the Caledonian

a lazy sunday in paris

One of my favourite things to do on a sunday morning is to browse on-line for houses for sale.  With no intention of buying anything right now, its always great to dream and imagine my dream abode.  This is one worth adding to that folder, with its eclectic assortment of chairs, wooden floors and charcoal windows.  Found here

nettleton 199

It's interesting to track the development of saota's style.  I'm glad to see that is does change, but never without that signature elegance, quality finishes and attention to detail...
